Cesky Krumlov

cesky krumlov is this little town in Czech Republic that has a huge beautiful castle surrounded by brown bears and is also famous for the fact that the horror movie hostel was filmed here.

We stayed in the hostel 99 which is the hostel which the movie was filmed. It was like a huge house filled with random people you got to know really well as there were no locks on bedroom doors and everything was free for all. Cesky had great food and beautiful scenery . First day we walked up to the castle and had a look at the bears that surrounded the castle. Then we walked up into the castle and looked around and then walked up through beautiful gardens and around the pond at the back. From the castle there was beautiful views of the entire town. All the buildings had red ceramic roof tiles and were tall narrow cream buildings. It was a magnificent view. Surrounding the castle and the town was a huge lake which the following day we hired white water rafts and white water rafted down the lake. Although we did this a little different and we made it a pub crawl which is the other main attraction to cesky . On the entire way down the river there are little bars that you pull into and have shots and drinks until you get to the bottom of the river which ends at the back of the hostel. The water was freezing cold but after a few drinks you couldn't really tell. We stopped at about 6 bars and it took us 6 hours to get down the river. Was a great day.a

That night we headed to the folk festival and had dinner and then off to bed for an early rise for the bus.

Prague - the place that makes me never want to drink again.

we arrived in Prague and get checked into our hostel Plus Prague which is like a mini hotel only it's ridiculously cheap. It has a sauna and huge indoor pool and a massive bar and restaurant out the back.

We drop our bags off and head to the sauna and pool and spend about an hour just chilling in there. Afterwards we get showered and head out for dinner as we arrived fairly late in the afternoon. For dinner we had traditional Czech Meals of beef goulash and these potato buns that they call dumplings. They were a weird texture that's for sure. Then off to bed for an early rise the following day.

Day 2 we get up early and have buffet breaks. Delicious! We walk to the tram station to catch the tram into town to do site seeing when we meet two guys that are staying at our hostel from Australia you wouldn't believe. Haha We get talking and decided to go on a pub crawl in the night with them as apparently Prague is known for good night life. We go site seeing in town and walk over the famous bridge and up the hill to visit the church and castle then spend the afternoon strolling through town and seeing the main town centre and huge clock. We grab something to eat then head home to get ready for the night. We meet the boys for predefined at 7 In our hostel bar then catch the tram into town under the big clock where we r bargained by all the different pub crawl companies to go on there tour. We end up getting the tour for really cheap and get 2 hours of free alcohol for free, what a mistake that was for me. After 2 hours of free shots and vodka by bar 2 I am passing out and vomiting everywhere. What a mess I am. So poor Sally and Michael take me home in a taxi and again the night finishes early.
Was fun while it lasted. Thank god I heard from a tour guide that this is a very common thing to happen in Prague so that made me feel a little better.

The next day we chilled out went and had Mexican for dinner then packed our bags as we were leaving early for cesky krumlov. Can't wait.

Berlin

Arrived in Berlin and headed out for dinner and had curry Bratwurst and Weiner Snitzel. German dishes ofcourse.  Then headed to bed as we'd spent a whole day travelling on a bus.

First day we went on a walking tour through the city and learnt alot and went to places such as check point charlie, berlin wall, east side gallery, hitlers bunker, jewish memorial, and Brandenburg gate. The stories were very sad that we learnt about the wars and there is still alot of obvious damage to the city as well as the people living on both the east and west sides of berlin.

That night we headed out on a pub crawl. YES ANOTHER PUB CRAWL. We went to 5 different bars and the english boys in our room came aswell after we payed them out for sleeping till 530pm after going out. We had many of shots and way too many drinks and ended up stumbling home after a great night out.

The next day was pouring with rain/ storming so there wasnt much we could do that was indoors so we just hung out and repacked out bags. After being fairly tired from spending 8 hours touring the day before and having a big night we had a few naps through out the day.

Amsterdam WOW

First night out on the town we went to a sex show. WOW describes this best. The redlight district is everything that you hear about it. You literally walk down a street with thousands of doors with red lights wrapped around the outside of them and when you look in the door there are girls pretty much naked doing everything they can to get you to go in the door. Its an eye opener. The sex show consisted of many of nationalities and a cigar , a banana and a texter. That is all we will say about this.

Next day we were up for our bike tour. This was a tour that took us out into the countryside of amsterdam - a part a lot of people don't see when they go. Riding through the city is an experience, bike riders have right away over pedestrians and you have to dodge all the traffic. After riding for awhile we got to have a stop at a pretty windmill for some photos then headed onto a cheese and clog factory.

The man that owned the factory was hilarious! He was always laughing and talking to everyone in there native language. He also made jokes about the girls moving to the front when he spoke cause he didn't like men. He kept talking to a chinese girl in chinese and put on the accent and everything. We learnt how he makes the cheese and then got to taste test them. So tasty! We then got to see a demonstration of how wooden clogs are made. We rode back to the city after this tour of the factory.

That night we were booked on the pub crawl which started at our hostel bar. We had convinced the two american boys in our room to come and a drinking challenge was started. The pub crawl was to go to 5 different bars. Apparently of the 50 people it only 20 had made it to the 4th bar. We only managed to the 3rd bar and then returning to the hostel found our american room mate vomitting all over himself in bed.

The next day we managed to get out of bed not feeling the greatest and went to the Anne Frank house. This was the house Anne hidout in with her family for years trying to escape being taken to concentration camps. The house had quotes from her diary displayed on all the rooms of the house. It was a very sad place knowing that someone ended up turning them into the nazis.

We went to a thai place for dinner with our new american friends and it was delicious. So good to finally have thai again.

Paris - The Land of Love

Where to start! This was my happiest day of my life! I was so excited Ive always wanted to go to eiffel tower and Moulin Rouge! You all know I love my musicals! Where to begin....

Once upon a time a girl named Marnie and her bestie Sally arrived on a bright blue busabout bus in Paris. The land of love. Yes every one was here with their girlfriends and boyfriends but we had each other so that didnt matter to us. We did all the coupley things minus the affection!

Day one we went to DisneyLand ! We were like little kids all over again! Smiles from ear to ear. We got the train out really early so that we'd arrive as soon as the doors opened. We ran around getting photos with everything and anything and then went on all the rides and even went in to an animagique show. We went on the teapots :) and the tower of terror (which is a ride where you get in a lift and there is a problem with the lift when you get to the top floor and thr lift suddenly falls metres really fast and then it goes back up and does it over and over again to the point of where your eyes are rolling in the back of your head. Was lots of fun. We got a good photo too! We went on space mountain, crushers coaster, rock n roller coaster, pirates of the carribean and went to go on indiana jones yet there was an emergency which to the staff wasnt an emergency until we saw the maintenance man running up the ride with a harness on to get people out ... so opted not to go on that once it reopened.

We watch a parade and went in the disney castle and went in lots of souvenier shops :) Then caught the train after a long day.

Next day we walked around and saw the Louvre and the Mona lisa portrait and then it started pouring rain so we had to buy a cheap umbrella and explore with that for the day. We went to The Arc D'Triumph and saw the eternal flame. We went to the Eiffel Tower and then in the night time we went to dinner under the eiffel tower and ate 'Escagot' Snails marinated in garlic and herbs. Then went and watched Moulin Rouge with a bottle of champagne! It was an awesome night. We saw alot of boobs, bums, and the costumes were amazing! So much detail and so much bling. A lady jumped in a tank filled with water and snakes and did acrobatics type things underwater and a guy hungoff the back of a chair and lift himself and a lady up into the air with his stomach muscles. Hard to explain but youll get the idea when we speak to you. The show finished at 2am and we headed home to bed.

Next day we went up the Eiffel tower and had some fun on the grass doing cartwheels and handstands and took photos. This day we also went on the night bike tour where we got to wear fluro yellow vests and ride around the city and we rode on roads that were 10 cars wide and our word was to "DOMINATE" no car was going to beat us so we all stuck as a group and then ended the night with cruising down the san river by boat watching the Eiffel tower light up sipping on red wine!

PARIS IS AMAZING!

San Sebastian - beaches, beef cheeks and baking!

WE spent 3 nights in San sebastian and were really lucky with the weather as it had rained for 5 days straight until we arrived the sun came out!

It was the last stop we had where we would be able to hang by a beach and get more of a tan. So we spend the next 3 days sunbaking, eating beef cheeks (there local dish) and strolling up the beach!

We hiked to the top of the mountain where there is a huge statue of jesus . We also did a bit of retail therapy as it was beginning to get cold and we had no winter clothes. WE ate lots of 'Pinchos' which is like tapas only its on sliced bread and all have toothpicks in them and its an honour system so if u threw your toothpicks out you didnt pay for what you ate! LUCKY WERE HONEST!

beef cheek

We drank lots of 'Calimocho' (red wine and coke) and also 'Tinto Verano' (red wine and lemon fanta) they were amazing! and definately got you a little typsy to easily!

Portugal - Lagos

What a way to start our trip in Portugal as we had to sit in Lagos airport for 2 hours as the shuttle company wouldnt drive us until more people came off other planes and the trains were closed already. WHAT A JOKE! so we arrived in Rising Cock Hostel (possibly the worst hostel ever) really late on the friday night.

We were asked if we minded sharing a queen bed. So we got excited thinking YES we've been upgraded..... UNTIL.... we walked into the 'PRINCESS' dorm room which was 16 girls in a room and they were double bed bunk beds everywhere and bags thrown all over the ground. It was filthy.

Our first night we stayed in from a long day of travelling and woke up to a girl in our room spewing all over herself and laying in our filthy shower naked vomiting everywhere. Her girlfriend wanted to keep partying so made a random guy that went out with them stay and take care of her. She stunk!

Back to sleep we went and then got up early to explore Lagos. Today Kate Frankland and her two gfs arrived . SO after exploring the beaches along the coast we went and indulged in a massage and a pedicure :) pure bliss if you ask me.. Then back to our hostel to get ready for our big night ahead.

This was a good night of drinking with our friends and heading out to all different clubs UNTIL we were woken up at 8am by one of the girls who had drunkenly crawled down off her top bunk and thought she was in the bathroom and wee'd all over another girls bed and in the girls bag. BUT WAIT THERES MORE... another girl woke up and realised shed wet the bed from being so drunk and to make it smell even worse was too embarressed to ask for new sheets so she just slept in her bed for another 3 nights! yes 3 NIGHTS!

We ended up getting up and having crepes/pancakes for breaky then headed to the beach with kate and the girls and then spent the day there and exploring through the rocks. After a day at the beach we went out for dinner with the girls and hung out with them as we had to be up early to fly back to Madrid.

Madrid

We only stayed in Madrid for 2 nights. One night on either side of our travels to Portugal so we didnt do much sightseeing here. Although we went to an Authentic Tapas Bar which the food was amazing!!!

We also went to see a Flamenco show which was good fun! The ladies and men really know how to move there feet very fast. There were 3 female dancers, 1 male dancer and 3 male singers and 3 male guitarists. It was fun to go to!

La tomatina - Sals favourite vegetable

To sum up the  3 days in Valencia we did a walking tour around the town, went out for drinks and tapas the first night with Aunty jess, Tatum, Nicky and Ash then headed home at 230am for an early night as it was a 6am get up for tomato throwing festival.

Up bright and early with minimal sleep we got the bus to Bunol where the Tomato throwing festival is held. From 8am - 11am people had to try and climb a pole covered in big fat to get the ham that was at the top down. Once the ham is reached the tomato fight begins. This year was the first time in 3 years that someone had gotten the ham down.

4 truck loads of tomatos came out after a cannon was shot to begin the festival. For the next hour we were covered from head to toe in tomatos and were throwing them at everyone and having the pegged at us. We were being squished to pieces in a moshpit. After the festival was over the locals bring out hoses and hose us down and we get back on the bus to head to the beach. It was lots of fun.

That night we did a pub crawl through Valencia where we had a few too many shots and danced then headed home to have an early night (5am) to get the bus to madrid.
