IOS - Where the party begins again.

We arived in IOS feeling fresh after having a few days in Santorini. We checked into our bungalow at Far Out Camping. Our bungalow had a fan... yes a fan!! This was a highlight to our day. It didnt matter if it wooshed hot air around it gave us some circulation. It was the same as paradise beach in Mykonos only it was a 3 bedder.

We pretty much did the same as we did in Mykonos only it was on the 'Aussie' island.

Strawberry Dacquiris

We did a fair bit of bar hoping in IOS which was fun. We went to orange bar where we had the most delicious shots ever. We had twix and Maltesers. There was snickers, turkish delight, bounty, creme egg and many more to chose from!

Shots at orange bar with the girls we met from Sydney

After orange bar we went to slammers and had a few tequila shots where you wear a helmet and they hit you on the head with an object. I was hit on the heat with a sledge hammer , Sally was hit with the fire extinguisher and Courntey was hit with a crate. It was lots of fun.

Circus Bar

We then went to circus bar and they had live music like sports bar dancefloor at northies ! it was so much fun. We danced the night away.

The following night we went to Rehab club where we could buy either 1 shot for 3euro or 5 shots for 5 euro so obviously Sally and I chose 5 shots for 5 euro continuosly the whole night until we cant remember what we were up to and the night was a dancing blurr. We left the club unsure of the time until we walked out the door and the sun was up, the bus was running and we walked home at approximately 730am. We were in good form that day! We woke Courtney up when we got home by ofcourse slapping her on the arse and saying quick lets get a marker to draw all over her face. She found us amusing then we passed out and woke up at 1pm for breakfast/lunch and hung by the pool where we struggled to stay awake even when the music was blaring from the day party. GOOD NIGHT!

The following night we went to Flames Bar which was cheap cocktails and we had a dance and met up with girls from busabout that we'd seen in Mykonos. Then we headed to shooters for a boogie on the dancefloor and by 3am we were ready to head home so we didnt have a repeat of the morning from Mykonos to Santorini.

Doki - the random german we met that had funny random things to say

leaving IOS

All in all IOS was awesome, lots of partying and lots of eating, sleeping, swimming and sunbaking. We left the greek islands sad but are happy to keep our travels going onto Italy!!

Santorini - where we live in luxury!

We arrived in Santorini after an interesting ferry ride. Marnie projectile vomitted into a chip bag before the boat had even started after a few too many drinks the night before. We then had to endure the boy next to us on the ferry vomitting all the way to Santorini. Getting picked up and taken to our hotel we were pleasently surpised to find the place was beautiful! Complete opposite to our Mykonos accommodation. In the afternoon we didn't do too much. Layed by the pool, walked down to the shops that were by our place, saw the beach with the black volcanic ash shore.

We wanted to rent bikes for the day so we could explore the island. After seeing tons of people with road rash up and down their arms and legs and hearing scooter stories, we decided that 4 wheels were better than 2, and went for the ATVs (quad bikes).  For only 16 Euro each for the day it was definately worth while.  The first thing we did was dropoff our laundry. Yes, we've only done proper laundry once since we've been away, things are beyond dirty at this point; but like we said, our standards are lower when you're living out of the one bag on your back. Our beach towels are as stiff as a board with all the salt that it has soaked up from weeks of swimming.

Then we headed up to Pirgos. The highest point on the island that you can see the panaramic view of Santorini, as well as the volcano next to it and other nearby islands. It was a bit scary driving up while on the edge of a cliff and busses passing by, but we made it to the top for some great views! We then headed to the capital of the island, Thira, for some sight seeing and some shopping. It was PACKED with tourists, and made me glad to be on the quiet side of the island. After some retail therapy led marnie to realise her travel money card was not in her wallet or bag, she freaked out and we drove back to our hotel to find it in her travel wallet.

Unique sunset

We then cruised around the island a bit more, taking in the beautiful views. We headed to the Red Beach, and a lighthouse with amazing views on the east side of the island. After a bit more riding around, and some lounging by the pool, we had dinner with a view and watched the beautiful 'unique' sunset.  We all agreed that day was a GREAT day.
The next day we had organised to take a tour of the Volcanic island, hot springs and sunset of IA. The tour went from 10am until 10pm - it was a long day thats for sure. We caught a pirate ship looking boat over to the volcanic island where we hiked 25 minutes uphill in 45 degree heat to reach the peak where we were given a history lesson on the activity of the Volcano and how it is still active today. You could feel the heat rising up from the ash through your shoes and could see the smoke rising up from it. We then hiked back down to then be taken on the boat to the hot springs. The water was from 25 degrees to 30 degrees and was bright orange/brown mud. It was really unusual as it connected to the ocean so one minute you were swimming in the ocean and then next it was the hot springs. We hopped on the boat again and went to a fishing village for lunch. The lunch proved to be one of the best yet. After watching some donkeys stroll down the mountain we got back on the boat to IA. This was our last stop for the day, we got icecreams and sat on the edge of the cliff and watched the sunset with the thousands of other people also there. The sunset was really nice and it was a really romantic evening for the three of us. Off back to the bus to be taken home for a well deserved sleep.
Woke up the next morning to checkout of the hotel, where the ATM decided to steal our money. We are still in the process of trying to claim our money back. THANKYOU EUROBANK.

Mykonos - WOW the island of lost innocence.

After catching a 3 hour ferry at 630am we arrive in Mykonos to find a beautiful little port and a nice beach called Paradise beach.

We are staying in a bungalow that has no aircirculation , 2 small single beds, no toilet and shower. We share bathroom facilities with hundreds of other people and ofcourse mixed gender! fun fun.

We head down to the beach and soak up some rays where we soon find out how innocent we really are. Just being a spectator alone now makes us feel less innocent.

Here are a few words to sum up the next 3 days and nights .

Sun
Swimming
Beach parties
Sleezy Italian men - with no manners
Same playlist of music on repeat
Too much alcohol
Dancing
Sweating
Spewing
Meeting loads of people
R-rated scenes in the broad daylight
Bob sinclair
Vodka shots
Hung over ferry rides = NOT COOL
Minimal clothing
Unusual piercings
These are a few things we can actually remember from Mykonos.

Our hostel/biggest party beach

Our huge luxurious room

Swimming in paradise beach

Having pre drinks with boys we met from Heathcote

Dancing the night away on the table!

Few too many pre drinks I think.

Passed out!

A guy that has 12 piercings through his scrotum. I had to get a photo with him!!

His definately not shy!

The day of cheap flights - You get what you pay for.

After hiking at 7am with our backpacks on to the bus stop in Dubrovnik, our bus which was supposed to pick us up at 745am but decided to come at 820am. With a 10am flight we started freaking out hoping we wouldnt miss our flight or we'd miss our connecting flight.

We made it to the airport and finally got onto our plane when an asian man decided that he was violently ill and could no longer fly so our flight was delayed an hour while a doctor came and assessed him and the crew got his luggage out of the plane. So now instead of having a 3 hour gap in our flights we only had 2 hours. Up in the air finally get and we arrive in Rome where we have to collect our bags and run to the departures terminal for easy jet. BUT NO. The baggage takes an hour to come out so when it arrives we literally run for our life as there is 10mins until our check in closes. We make it to the check in counter at 150pm and the lady says we have to line up with the thousand of other people and the line was not moving. Finally we just pushed to the front of the queue and made checkin by 1min.

BUT WAIT THERES MORE. The line to get through security is about 100metres long curled up like a snake and ofcourse we are told you either push in front of everyone or you wait in the line and miss your flight which definately wont wait for you. So we chose to push in and wow what a mistake that was. Sally was sworn at in another language and then in english because she answered the guys question of telling them we were told to push in to make our flight.

I quote "Im going to push infront of you f**king assholes . Im not missing my flight either" of course our reaction is to laugh which aggrevates him even more.

Finally we get through and onto our plane where we can relax for a couple of hours until we reach Athens.

Well Athens was definately nothing we expected and we highly recommend to not stay in Athens. We caught a bus to the port to find our hotel and not one person could tell us where it was so we aimlessly walked around for 1hr until the 3rd taxi driver could tell us .

We get to our hotel and passout due to exhaustion of travelling!! The Joys.

When 7 days mix into 1 BIG day.....

The Next few days blend into one as we pretty much sunbaked, jumped off the boat, went swimming and drank and went clubbing everyday and night!

But heres our highlights of the days!

8 am breakfast everyday was an absolute killer. We'd eat breaky and head up to the top deck everyday as there was a breeze and it was so much cooler then our room.

Day 2 - As we were sailing to Makarska 2 dolphins were swimming in front of our boat it was so amazing . Topped off the whole romantic scene Sally and I were going for. Once we arrived in Makarska we went swimming and then headed to some local markets for a browse. Had dinner at a restaurant called 'Susvid' which was really good seafood. Then we headed back to the boat to have a shower and start drinking games.

A Shower- these were minimal on our cruise as the experience wasnt very pleasent. Definately not living in 5star accomodation thats for sure. Our water was freezing cold, you had to hold the shower head in your hand so that you could get underneath it, you most definately had to wear thongs and your feet were left soaking in all the water that wouldnt drain. So picture the bathroom/toilet covered in water after 2 girls try and shower in it and wash their hair. It was horrendous. The water would stay in the bathroom for days and would smell real bad, to the point where the water had grown a film of (Im not to sure what it had grown) but it was brownish in colour and disgusting!!

That night we headed to 'Deep Club' which we were told was going to be a big night. And Yes the guide was correct Sally and I arrived home at 530-6am after raving in a cave! This club was soon nicknamed 'THE RAVE CAVE' - fist pumping was a common dance move in here. Boys have no dress sense over here what so ever. Who ever told them socks and crocs , bumbags/men satchels and joggers and boardies looked good clearly was blind! After stumbling home we sat on the deck and then passed out in bed .

Check out the size of the straws !

Day 3- Woke up at 11am and missed breakfast. What a surprise. Our heads were pounding , we were still wearing the clothes from the day/night before so we headed out for a swim. Sally was good and read a book on the deck. Once I had a swim I was back to bed feeling sorry for myself (secretly wishing helen was there to cook me breaky in bed) then Sally came woke me for lunch then after lunch we were both back into Sallys bed sound asleep snuggling! We woke up docked in Hvar where the seafood was the best by far!

That night we backed up and went to Kiva Bar for some cocktails. The music was awesome was like going to vinyl room. I had a tequila slammer which is where you put on a helmet they hit u on the head about 10times with either a rock or the cashregister or what ever they can find that heavy then you have the shot. It was intense but fun. The next bar we went to was Verandah Bar which was in a castle and had ridiculously over priced drinks but had a pool and lounges it was cool. Then got pizza and went home for an early night..... 3am!

Tequila Slammer

Day 4- Acted like real tourists today taking loads of photos aka model shots 'Cause you know Im a model right?' then we were spoiled with eggs and one slice of FATTY bacon each! Was so good after having bread for weeks and days.

Then we got a boat to the Blue Cave . The line we had to wait in was a joke. People on this side of the world have no commonsense in creating a line. We lined up for 45 mins to have people just rocking up whenever and jumping straight on the boat. Not happy Jan!

Inside the Blue Cave!

The entrance to the blue cave was really small and you had to duck down in the boat to fit in the cave and it had to be the right tide and at the right time without getting stuck. Of course we got stuck behind this stupid little blow up boat that had no idea what they were doing so it almost caused an accident but we made it in and out safe!

The Cave inside was absolutely stunning and amazing! It was glowing bright blue through this small hole at the base up into a pitch black cave room! The Photos dont do it justice! It was pure bliss and you all missed out sorry to say.

Then we got back onto the boat and headed to Vis where we had dinner on the boat then had a dress up theme which was 'Anything but clothes' . It was lost of fun. We dressed ourselves in garbage bags and were very happy we didnt have to dirty more clothes. We played a game of never ever and lots of truths were revealed about everybody. We sure got to know each other quickly. We then headed to a local bar and created the 'Plomin' dance and chant.

It goes PLO WHAT? plomin PLO WHAT? Plomin. PLomin Plomin plomin plomin... and so on.

Our dance was bent knees crossing hands over to knees like when your a child at dancing and skipping side to side! was totally awesome! Then off to bed.

Day 5 - Today we arrived in Korcula where we looked at all the markets as handmade jewellery was apparently big seller there. Then went to pizza with the group and learnt about a man called Marco Polo. We then went and pre drinked and went to a club where we walked in chanting to everyone the plomin song. There was rivalry between our boat and 'ICA' the other boat as we thought itd be funny to steal there pool floats and they didnt like it so they abused out boat and from that day on it was competition! When the girls were arguing with our boat one drunken night over stealing pool floats that cost us max $3 they yelled 'Get your tour guide I wanna speak with him" and our tour guide replied 'I am the f**king tour guide so f**k off" and we continued to laugh at them.

Day 6- Swam all day and hung out in the bay on our lilos then had delicious steak and zucchini frittas and then headed to Mljet where we walked through the national park and went swimming and caught a boat to an island to see an old church then came back to the main island and swam through rapids where I cut my pinky toe on a rock and it stung big time and i whinged but to make the story sound better i said i was attacked by a seabass. hahaha

my poor little pinky toe

That night we went out for a kind of 'CHEAP' dinner! and what a mistake that was! I ordered the squid and chips (THANK GOD) and the Sally and Rachel shared fish and so did Chris which came out as deep fried sardine looking fish with heads tails and bones still intact. Looked like cat food and smelt revolting! We were all gagging! Nobody ate it and we just paid and left. That night the sunset was really nice so we took some pictures and went to the beach bar and then had an early night as we knew our last night in Dubrovnik was going to be huge.

apparently this is 'Fish and Chips'

Day 7- Up early for breakfast and another day of swimming and taking photos of us all jumping off the boat then headed to the port in Dubrovnik where we walked around the old town and then had dinner and headed back to begin the big night of drinking! We got lots of group photos then headed to a club where we had shots on arrival and then drank buckets the entire time it was awesome!! Emma, Sal and I went and got pizza then headed to another club called Latino Club and then headed home after a few drinks! That night we sat on the deck with everybody and enjoyed stealing lilos from boats then headed to bed for a 7am get up for breaky and packing .

sunset is ahhhhhhhmazing!

Day 8- The cruise is over and we are sad to leave! It has been loads of fun!
