After 22years of parental supervision its now time to take on the world alone!!

June 22nd 2011

After having an emotional goodbye to my family and friends at the airport I have left sydney to jetset around the world !! What a mix of emotions I was feeling!

After an 8 hour flight to singapore and being sat next to the largest lady on the entire plane (who had to ask for an extra seatbelt as hers didnt fit her and watching her tray table sit on an angle on her chest) I finally arrived in singapore at 930pm! I had to catch a monorail type thing to the other side of singapore airport and sit and wait for 4 hours to get my connecting flight to Isntabul, turkey!
Finally at 130am we were able to board the plane. My eyes were stingy and I was ready to kill someone I was that tired!

I was able to watch the sunrise over turkey as the plane landed then I had the whole day ahead of me to look around until I met up with Courtney (My to be travel buddy) who my dad has nicknamed 'Yankee Doodle'. Turkey is nothing like I expected its absolutley beautiful!

I arrive to my hotel and get showered and look out my window to see the Blue Mosque! It was beautiful.... until you heard the prayers come out of the speakers 5 times a day. First at 4am and the last at 1030pm! I cant even describe to you what it sounds like.

I strolled up and had a look at a Bazaar, the Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia and Topkapi Palace. On the way home I stopped and tried a Simmit which is a pretzel type thing with grape juice and seasame seeds . It was nice.

The next day Courtney arrives in the afternoon and we went in to have a look at the Blue Mosque, and wrapped ourselves up in scarves to cover our hair and our knees. It was cool to experience such a different culture. We also toured Aya Sophia, built several times and has been both a Christian Church and a Mosque, very unique that there are symbols from both religions there. We then left to get a Tram and train to get to the overnight bus station to Cappadocia!
